Whenever a friend asks me to do their photos, I of course feel very honored, but also incredibly nervous. There’s something about knowing a person’s response to your photography [more than just a kind email from a client thanking me] — you know, seeing which photos they use on social media, if they use your photos for a save the date, etc, etc…that makes it all feel a little more personal.
But then, on the other hand, when you get to work with one of your best friends and her husband-to-be during the photoshoot, it is an amazing experience — since you know how strong their love for each other is and how they came to be. That was my experience with one of my dearest friends, Lani, and her fiancé, Kenny, during their Hoboken waterfront engagement shoot.
Aren’t they just darling? Well, we had an hour to work with our sunset lighting [Kenny had to work late], and I put them to work. Here are a few of my favorites from our 60 minute session — yes, it CAN be done!
Like really…stop being so adorable!!
We even got a little GQ/silly. Aren’t they just too good to be true?
Lan & Ken wanted to do a few shots by the “150 Years of Hoboken” sign since they live in Hoboken, so we did, right before the sun went completely down — I was a bit worried that they wouldn’t come out, but bump up the ISO and you’re in business! There were too many good ones to choose from, even from an hour of shooting, so I tried to just skim through and pick my favorites. Hope you enjoyed!
They are just too cute. Love them to pieces. Can’t wait to be part of your big day!!
